Influence of photoselective vaporization of prostatic gland on sexual function in men with adenoma of prostate

SUMMARY

The EAU emphasizes the importance of monitoring the state of sexual function in the treatment of sexually active men with symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (SDGP). The photoelectric laser vaporization of the prostate gland (FSLVP) has a comparable efficacy with TURP, but less duration of urinary catheter and hospitalization. Some studies do not disclose the mechanisms of the effect of FSLVs on the sexual function, and are characterized by a number of methodological shortcomings (using the short questionnaire IIEF5, the total score of IPSS).
